This festival is designed to promote and celebrate the diversity of the Creole-speaking world. A multi-disciplinary event, this festival is the result of close collaboration between the Foundation and two very important regional entities, the Broward County and the City of Ft. Lauderdale.

A Promising Series

Highly successful in the presentation of its cultural series in Broward during the past four years, ACTION Foundation is adding a new dimension to it original concept. Traditionally under the theme «  From a Legacy of Freedom to an Explosion of Culture », the Foundation has showcased primarily Haitian art and culture, but now it seeks the participation of other countries of the Creole-speaking world. The Broward County and the City of Ft. Lauderdale are pleased with this initiative and have committed their full support to its success. During the last series, the Broward County found it fitting to praise the accomplishments of the Foundation by proclaiming May 2004 “ACTION Foundation Month”. The new series will benefit from logistical, administrative, financial  

and promotional support from the County and the City Committee which will help guarantee its success.

The « International Creole Fest » will consist of:

. 14 musical concerts / dance recitals presented by great artists of the Creole world 
.   art exhibits celebrating a unique esthethical perspective
. exhibits of handicraft arts and industrial products inspired by tradition.
. conferences about the Creole language (interpreters French/Creole to English)
. workshops having to do with oral traditions
. a food fair meant to promote Creole cuisine
